Pract 3.02
BBDC Class 2b
Pract 3.02 13 August 2018
Session 7: 7.20pm-9.00pm
I was really nervous for this lesson as I had not ridden for a week. I didn't have the time and there weren't slots that were available for the times that I had time. So, ohwells.
So today, I had Zann(?) for my instructor. I quite like the way that he teach. He might be strict but he really tells you where to improve and what you were doing wrong. So even if he don't pass me, I will accept it; not like other instructors that I have. There were 5 of us taking this pract and when 2 of them saw that it was him, they both had sorta "big reaction" and said that likely they won't be able to pass alr. Internally, I was laughing, seems like Zann has a reputation for failing people. HAHA. I, on the other hand, was super happy that he was taking me for this pract. Oh, he took me for my 1.03 and second 2.01. He recognises me as well and I guess maybe thats why I feel comfortable with him as my instructor.
So, for the lesson, we had to do just 1 thing and that was ebrake. I was mistaken and thought we had to do bumpy too but that was for those taking class 2A and 2. MUAHAHAHAH! I was super happy! was worried for bumpy cause the speed control must be quite zai and seems like have to be stable half standing on the bike. But anyway, back to today's lesson.
So Zann taught us the technique and said that need to up to gear 3 and maintain speed at 30km/h by the middle cone. After cross the white line, close throttle, keep gradually depress the front brake. Cannot one shot press in cause will skid and fall.
So he let us try it at 20km/h first. He kept saying that I needed to depress gradually but faster abit cause I was stopping too close to the red line at 20km/h. If 30km/h, I confirm will overshoot. However, I still couldn't. In the end, we increased to doing it at 30km/h. It was actually quite scary cause I think I maintain my 30km/h too late, so I was still increasing speed after the third cone and thus by the time I reach the white line I was too fast already and could not brake in time.
There was once I was really going too fast. I press my front brake too hard, the wheel lock and I fell sideways and landed on my back. The floor was wet and my whole back was just wet. It was yucky. But I was feeling quite alright. Had a minor scrape on my elbow. Zann helped to pick up my bike, asked if I was ok, whether I had any bad injury or anything, to which I said that I was ok. Then he pushed my bike to the side and checked again whether I was alright. Afterwhich, he processed with me what was the cause of me falling. Then I replied and all and he told me to drink water and continue to try again.
So, I composed myself and tried again. I think when you first move off, really need to throttle more and faster up gear and up to gear 3 so that you can faster reach 30km/h and maintain it. I think I managed to do it better the last few rounds.
Just a note, the procedure is, move off, throttle more, kick to gear 3 as fast as possible and try and reach 30km/h by the middle cone and then maintain the speed. Look straight ahead, reach white line, close throttle, gradually press the front brake to stop before the red line. Just before you come to a complete stop, try and clutch in, if not it's ok. So, you stop in gear 3, there is no need to kick down to gear 1 before stopping. After that, to get ready to move off, check back right, put down right leg, then put up left leg, kick down to gear 1, check back left side, put down left leg put up right leg, signal right, check back right before moving off.
So, at the end of the lesson, I failed this pract and had to come again. Sigh, but ok, I accept it and feel that I need more practice on this. So, yeah. I tried to book a lesson on wed but there was no slot. I reached home then saw that there was a slot on wed at 7.20pm. BUTTTTTT my account not enough money. I totally forgot about it and didn't check my balance. URGH. I faster internet bank transfer but it didn't show. According to the website is that it'll take within 3 days. I was so damn annoyed. The next day I checked and there was no more slot and my money was in. URGH.
I NEED TO WAIT ONE MORE WEEK FOR THE NEXT LESSON. cause I'm not free the rest of the week already. haiyoh. really damn irritating. I totally had time to top up my account before the pract. If only I checked, I could've gone for the lesson on wed and didn't have to wait 1 whole week.
Ohwell, I can only rant. Let's hope my next lesson will go smoothly and that I'll master the technique and that there'll be available slots for me to book my next practs!!
