Pract 1.02

BBDC Class 2b

Pract 1.02 20 July 2018

Session 7: 7.20pm-9.00pm

Was rushing down from work and thank God I made it! I went to scan my IC for the slip of paper that told me my tag and tag number. I'm tag 17 this time. So, there were 3 of us in this lesson. Dinah and another guy. Dinah talked to me as I sat down in the room to wait for the instructor to call us. She was really nice and it was fun getting to know someone else, another girl especially. I think cause we're girls taking class 2b, we'll feel some sort of camaraderie. LOL. That's what I think.

So anyway, the instructor called us. Didn't manage to get his name though. He told us to take a bike and go rounds in the small circuit, to practice starting and stopping. Just for your info, the normal bikes are the ones with 2 numbers. Single number bikes have a lower cut in terms of the seat. So, the rounds around the mini circuit was fairly easy as I managed to practice quite abit from the previous lesson. Subsequently, he checked with us whether we had learnt how to change gear in the previous lesson. Both Dinah and I had tried it before, I tried shifting from Gear 1 to Gear 2 in the previous lesson. Therefore, he told us to practice changing gear and subsequently to change to Gear 3. Each round, we were supposed to start, change to Gear 2 then Gear 3 then stop by braking lightly with front and rear brake, clutch in, kick down to Gear 1 then slowly stop before the cone and the cycle repeats itself again. So, I think we practiced that till like 8.20pm.

After that, he brought us out to the main circuit. That was really fun! We went round and round changing to gear 3 and stopping. It was really fun experiencing the wind as I sped up. I wished we could go faster though. HAHA. So, we did that for a few rounds. I think my hands were super tired by then, from the clutch and braking and all that.

After practicing for awhile, he then showed us 1 segment of 1.03 which is the part whereby we have to stop in short distances without wobbling. So, after showing us, he let us try it twice I think. It was not easy as having to break in a short distance can really cause some wobbling. Particularly so for me as I felt that my stability is not that good. The tip that he gave for this was that we should use the rear brake more than the front brake. I gave it a shot and I think, for my first time, I did not too bad. Managed to do it properly. Hopefully, when I go for my 1.03, I would be able to practice more and master this so that I can pass it in one try!

Following that, he led us back into the mini circuit to practice changing gears and stopping again and then it was the end of lesson.

We had a lot of fun and it was great knowing the others as well! As we ended, the instructor also mentioned that Pract 1.03 is not easy. Actually, he said it a few times. So, let's hope I can make it :)

So, for this lesson, all of us PASSED!! YAY!

After the lesson, I went back and booked my Pract 1.03 on sunday, 22 Jul at 11.30am. Hope it will be cloudy and that it will not rain and that it'll be windy! So far, I've only been taking night lessons and night lessons are great cause of the breeze. :)

So, looking forward to Pract 1.03!!
