Pract 5.01 and RC#1
BBDC Class 2b
Pract 5.01 8 September 2018
Session 3: 11.30am-1.10pm
It was raining super heavily in the morning today and I was contemplating whether or not to go for the pract cause I really do not want to be riding in the rain. But, I really don't want to waste the money. So, I decided to go for it.
In the end, I was happy that I went to the lesson. I will share more later.
So, it turns out that I was the only one for that lesson and I got the same instructor again. I think he's called Andre or something along those lines. So, cause I was the only one and this lesson was supposed to be on pillion riding, he told me that I had to pillion him... I was super shocked like whuuuuuuuddddd... hahahaha and then I just continued on uh.
For today, he shared the circuit test route, so its, start at start line, move off, after the bend, lane change to the right, turn right at number 12 then turn left at 29 and go on slope. Then exit slope turn left and continue straight to figure 8. After that, crank course then continue straight. after traffic light, keep right and turn right, then lane change and go to plank then pylon and ebrake then return back to the small circuit.
So thats the whole route.
After going through the whole circuit once, we took a water break, he told me that since, I was uncomfortable, I did not have to pillion him. Internally, I was like, WOOHOOOOOOOOO!! Cause it would be really awkward to be pillioning him. Actually, alot of instructors passed by us and kept saying to him, one person ah! loool got another instructor told me to ride fast cause he big sized, need more power. HAHAHAHAHAHA
So after the break, I asked the instructor whether I can just practice plank cause I know that's the course the I'm the most unconfident of. He said can, of course. So I just kept doing plank. I think I got better at it. During the last like, 15 mins of the class, he brought me to go do uturns in the mini circuit. I went and it was initially quite daunting. cause you have to slow speed turn, the important thing is to maintain control like during the plank. Yeah, after doing a few more rounds, I am more confident of it and it was pretty alright.
I ended the lesson there and... I passed! hahaa it was an easy practical. Next is the circuit evaluation and ohboy I hope I passed.
I'm gonna carry on with talking about my first RC practical which I booked on
11 September 2018 at 7.20pm-9pm
Today is my first RC. It was an instructor that I didn't know at all as well. So, we went first to the plank. He gave me some tips which is to lock my elbow and lean forward. That is how to have more stability while doing the plank. I tried it out and found that the method really works! Like I feel much more in control of the bike after doing what he taught! I think that is why I'm super like wow-ed by it. Like, how come previously like the other instructors didn't tell me about it sia. My pylon was okay. Ebrake was okay except that I tend to clutch in too early, slope was okay, but I think my figure 8 could still be improved. Like I dont know why I couldn't maintain control of my bike. Like, there was once where I felt like I was gonna fall then I put my left leg down and paddled abit before regaining control and continuing on with the circuit. So.. hmm.. I have to improve on that.
So, we kept practicing and that was the end of the RC.
